Hmmm, shouldn’t have worn ballet flats.

My feet are FREEZING.  After 74 degrees temps last weekend we now have the threat of snow on the way tonight.  Not quite as much as you are all experiencing on the other side of the Atlantic (my friend in St. Tropez even shared snaps of snow on palm trees) – but enough to send Atlanta into a frenzy of panic buying bread and milk, and rushing to get home before the roads get bad.  We are absolutely unprepared for snow and ice here.  Two years ago, at this time of year, we were housebound for a week due to an ice storm.  There were no gritters (not sure they’re called that here – but trucks that spread salt) available to salt any of the minor roads, plus the power kept going out due to branches falling from the weight of the ice.  Nightmare.  Fingers crossed it won’t be anywhere near that bad tonight.  Anyway I have panic bought wine and have enough to last at least a couple of days if needed.  Sorted.

Tired of jeans this week I chose my harem trousers from Zara (similar here).  I’m wearing them with a Zara animal print t-shirt and the lovely Boden Must have jumper – of which there are still several in the clearance section.  I love the simple silhouette of this jumper and the button detail on the shoulders is really cute.  Unsurprisingly this isn’t the only one I own.  The shoes are Tory Burch Revas in mouse (old) – whatever possessed me not to wear socks and boots!?

Oh I am in desperate need of a haircut too, not to mention the state of my brows, so I better had be able to get to my appointment in the morning!  Keep warm and dry where ever you are!

  1. Loving those Tory Burch pumps! Two fingers to the snow – love it 🙂 and love how you’ve stocked up on the wine while everyone else stocks up on milk & bread lol! xx

  2. I want those harem pants.. must go and see if there any online. I don’t own a single piece of Zara. Speaking of cold feet in TB flats, I wore my Eddie’s to school one day when I was working as a sub. They were awful on cold mulch. Just freeeeezing!

  3. I had my thermals on today and we had another smattering of snow. Brrr. The must have jumper looks great on you and I really love the harems on you but then again you have the height to carry it off. Happy wine drinking!

  4. Lovely outfit, textures, shapes & patterns. And soft neutrals. Perfect. I feel your pain with the frozen feet, sometimes there’s no option (after days & days trugging around in snow & slush wearing uggs or wellies) but to throw caution to the (icy) wind and wear ballet flats or heels! No pain no gain right?

btw are you still running? I’ve seen some of your earlier posts about your training etc. but wasn’t sure if you’re still on a schedule at all? I am running London marathon in April but starting to wonder was it such a wise idea!

    • Hi Erika! I got injured late last summer – a stress fracture in my foot – darn it – though quite relieved also:) It’s only since December that I have been trying to get back in shape as I piled the pounds on with no running! I went for a 4 miler on Sunday and felt fabulous so considering another half soon – can’t beat running for the endorphins! How is the training going for April?

      • Crikey, how did the stress fracture come about do you know? Was it just the high level of training you were doing?

I ‘seem’ to be doing ok in prep for April. I’m trying to add yoga into the schedule so I’m enjoying the that at the moment but not the high mileage so much 😉

On the subject of Miami marathon, did you stay over while you were there? If you have any tips I’d be grateful as I am going for the first time in April (just after I’ve finished the race!)

Hope you get another run in soon 🙂

      • I did it playing tennis for the first time in 20 years! Rolled my foot:( So Miami is this weekend and I keep getting emails to rub my face in the fact that I won’t be there! Maybe I should go anyway just for the margarita!? Yoga will help a lot – it really helped my strength and stretching. We’ve got ice rain today so just went for a spin class at the gym – not brave enough to run in this! x

I love hearing your thoughts and I will reply as soon as I can if you have a specific question! If you prefer email you can contact me at Joanna@Poppys-Style.com. Thanks for taking the time to comment xx
