Dusting the flares off again

Yes they are back, though for me the great flare never went away. This is me from almost exactly a year ago wearing my Hudson Woodstock flares that I love so much!

jacket-and-flares-386x1024I find flares super flattering especially with a heel – really leg lengthening and slimming with a great bell bottom. The more flared the better as far as I am concerned!

Here’s me in the same jeans from March 2011!

2011Here are some of my favorite inspiration photos from Pinterest – there’s an abundance of great street style photos for flares!

I love the idea of these with flat, minimal sandals in the summer.

wide leg jeans zaraI’ve recently ordered this pair as I love the idea of a black pair of flares and Zara’s jeans always have a lovely stretch to them too. They’ll be perfect with Stans or heels.

black flaresUnfortunately I can’t find the Hudson Woodstock anywhere these days but they now stock the Ferris flare here which look identical with the hem stitching. I particularly love my Hudsons for the stretch denim and the flap back pockets – they really give your butt a great shape!

ferris flareIf you don’t like the flap pocket then Nordstrom stock the Hudson Angel flare with a classic pocket.

Today I am back in the skinnies but I’m off out with the girls tonight and might just dig out my Hudsons for the occasion!

Oh Michelle they will look great on you with your Stans or even heels for a date night with your leather jacket – get them!

Avril will end up doing the flares I bet :o)

And I have a pair of baby kick flares in my possession at the moment which I am “debating”. I need to do more research to make sure they are the ones. They’re too long of course but hey, that’s the story of my life.

And look at your pic from 2011 – your hair looks really good in that – you’re definitely a short hair gal.

I have issues Joanna, issues. I have a lovely pair of flares, I guess you would call them baby kicks but they make the tops of my legs look so skinny and not I hasten to add in a good way. If I go for wide legs, I lose leg definition and my waist and tummy look chunky. Help!!! I really want to wear them again this year. Have we seen that gorgeous coat before? It’s fab x

Why not try a longer slouch tunic jumper with them? If it hits mid thigh you’ll still get the slim top and kick effect – try it – a good chunky one like the image in the post!

I live in skinnies but have always had a soft spot for the whole flare/bell bottom thing so I’m getting mine out (the flares) as soon as the weather warms up (can’t do flared jeans in winter for some reason!). Wearing them always used to remind me of Charlie’s Angels – memories! 🙂 x

The problem with my flares is they are long so if I want to wear a more comfortable flat shoe they drag on the floor – ah well – maybe I just need to buy a shorter pair too lol!

Thanks Fiona! I hope the new ones I’ve ordered work too but to be honest do always feel more comfortable in some good stretch skinnies!
