I’m feeling slightly giddy today – it’s going to be a good end to the week. We only have 3 1/2 weeks left of the school year and the kids are already counting down to our fun summer that we have planned, plus Poppy turns 9 on May 18th. I’m slightly befuddled as to how I ended up here with a 9 year old and a 7 year old! Not to mention on Saturday it will be 23 years since I had my first ‘romantic encounter’ with my Husband! 23 years dang it! That’s more than half my life! We’re planning a low key celebration with margaritas and tacos. I cannot wait 😉
Yesterday was glorious here – I walked the dogs and I swear we all had a spring in our step. I got the legs out to celebrate the presence of the sun. This dress is from last summer from ASOS. I had forgotten how much I love it. I was hesitant at first about the drop waist but I actually think it gives me some shape, and the asymmetrical hem emphasizes my legs. It’s one of those dresses that I always feel great in.
Dress – ASOS (old – similar here) // Shoes – Zara
Today I’m going for comfort with the ecru overalls/dungarees from H&M. Super stretchy and an utter bargain at $20! I am totally smitten with the shoes. In fact this season Zara has amazing shoes but, for me, the rest of the collection falls a bit flat. I’m loving Mango’s SS15 far more!
Shoes – Zara // Overalls – H&M // T-shirt – J.Crew (on sale PLUS 40% off with SALETHERAPY)
So the reason for the giddiness and being on Cloud 9? Well I am thrilled, flattered and incredibly grateful to have been featured on two amazing style websites today. I am sure you will love reading both sites – they are packed with inspiration and tips.
Take a peek – YouLookFab.com and 40PlusStyle.com. It makes the ups and downs of blogging all worth while. If you have found me through these articles welcome, and I hope you enjoy my posts and return often!
Thank you everyone for your continued support – it means the world to me.
I love the drop waist dress on you. And with regard to your post about skincare and make-up, I think the first thing I’ve noticed lately is how radiant you look. Thanks for sharing your skincare routine, you have a beautiful complexion. I am going to write down all your products so that I can test them out on myself.
Wow radiant – that’s lovely!! The Spring sun definitely helps! Try out Soap & Glory’s Glow Job too – it’s a moisturizer that leaves a hint of color and glow – I love it and often wear it alone xx
Congratulations Joanna on both articles – what a lovely end to the week! I think you’ll need to down a few extra margaritas to celebrate 😉
Jane xx
Thanks Jane!! It’s been lovely – I am still over the moon with the response they have generated! xx
I saw you this morning on You Look Fab – off to check the other blog. Congrats!
Thank you Patricia!!! Both sites are fabulous for tips and inspiration – lots of women just like us enjoying clothes!
Such a fun dress, Joanna, and those red flatforms add even more pizzazz to your overalls outfit. Thank you very much for mentioning us on your blog today. Our readers feel just as inspired by your amazing style as Angie and I. And what a fun coincidence that you are featured on Sylvia’s blog today as well. I really enjoyed reading the interview.
Thank you Inge for featuring me – I have been overwhelmed by the feedback. As a blogger we tend to get lost in our own thoughts when it is just me a laptop – it’s lovely to hear that people appreciate what is being written! xx
Saw you on You Look Fab. And you’ve got me on cloud 9. Just the style inspiration I need and have been looking for. Wow.
Hi Sandy!!! Thank you so much for commenting – thank you for your lovely kind words! We all need inspiration at times!!! I never claim to be a style expert I am just having fun and hope to encourage others to do the same with their clothes xx
Hi Joanna,
LOVED both these articles, as they are so different from each other and also your own style of writing… it made me see your special style from a different angle. I couldn’t agree more about the age thing. As I may have mentioned in the past (though you would be forgiven for not remembering every detail) I’m now 55, and have never had more fun with clothes. I have elbowed Boden from my favorites list (I hooked up to your blog via Boden I think) as it all started to feel a bit mumsy despite undeniable quality. Still love their cashmere cardies though. Patterns other than animal print and the odd stripe don’t really do it for me either, though I had to see some hideous photos of myself to realize.
Anyway, stick with it, you are doing a great job. Fun, warm, chatty and no dumbing down. Go for it lass!
Chris – you made me feel quite emotional – I always love to read your comments! I really sometimes forget that people read my posts so most of the time I am writing for me – that’s nice that it comes across that way too – I’d hate it to sound edited or scripted! Have a gorgeous weekend xxx
Ah bless! Hope we meet up one day in real life – I’m sure we wouldn’t be short of things to chat about!
Many congratulations Joanna, they’re great articles. You must be over the moon. Rocking those shoes (do I sound American) and I’m not jealous of your weather x
I am over the moon!! It’s quite thrilling – all is quiet for a while then 2 features on the same day! xx
Hi Poppy,
I like your blog and love your style ♥
Many greetings from Germany
Sabine – Bling Bling Over 50
Hello Sabine – thanks so much for taking the time to comment and hello!!! I hope you keep coming back – I’ll try to keep you amused:) xxx
I have to say, you are looking glowing and radiant in your recent pics. Life is good I would say and that shines through.
And how lovely to be featured on those two blogs. You’re famous!
What a lovely thing to say Sue – I am so flattered to have been featured – it’s overwhelming! xx
Reading those blog posts of you made me proud to be called your friend 🙂 YOU ROCK!
Oh Fiona that is so lovely – I am proud of you all – none of this would be possible without all of you! xx
