Yesterday Poppy turned 9! I can’t quite believe I am the mother of a 9 year old. She loves hearing the story of her actual birth and everytime I detail it for her I feel a pang of sadness that it is so long ago – I don’t ever want to forget that day we welcomed our first baby into the world! She made us all wait till 6.30pm – her approx. time of birth – before we could ‘celebrate properly’! Chocolate fudge cake seemed to work well for that little celebration 😉
We ended up at Shake Shack for burgers – her favorite place for food, but I am more excited about traveling to NYC 2 weeks today, for a mother/daughter trip to continue her celebrations!
It’s the last week of school now, packed with conferences, school visits and lots of fun for them! It’s Memorial Day this weekend too, so we’re planning a very lazy weekend interspersed with various meals out and mini celebrations to welcome the beginning of summer! I must not forget to stream The Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday – one of my favorite events of the year 😉
Here are my outfits from the past couple of days – I seem to be reaching for the jeans at the moment!
Shoes – Vince Claire // Jeans – TopShop Hayden // Top – AllSaints (old)
I love these Vince Claire d’Orsay pumps and the navy snakeskin is now on sale at Nordstrom with 33% off! I am normally a US 8.5 but wear an 8 in these. Be quick there are several sizes available!
There are several versions of the Vince Nina on sale too!
The nude version is even cheaper here with several sizes in stock.
Love that second photo – great jacket! Happy Birthday Poppy – she’s so beautiful. Is it going to be an annual event going to NYC on my birthday?!! Wish I could join you this time xx
Happy Birthday to Poppy.
Thanks for the reminder for the ESC. I fly to UK on Thursday for daughters graduation so will be able to catch it live, accompanied by a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. A real treat as opposed to watching it the next day on download with some mineral water here!
Love those Vince Nina’s. Off now to peruse the John Lewis website before I push the click and collect button.
OMG please tell me you didn’t bake that cake and if you did you have to share the recipe!
I adore the navy white ensemble.
Happy Birthday to Poppy!
I love that you’re taking her to NY on a mum/daughter trip, fab! But wait until you have a 17 year old, that really does make you feel old!! 😉 x
Wow, time really flies, doesn’t it? I look at my daughter now, and I’m astonished by small things like the size of her feet – I just can’t believe how grown up she is, and she’s only seven!! Love your bright blazer, it really suits you xx
Happy Belated to Poppy! It is scary how fast they grow isn’t it?! You look gorgeous but love outfit 2 on you! Fab jacket! x
Happy Birthday! Poppy. Hope the coming year is as beautiful as you are.
The girls are sending their wishes too.
