Warm and snuggly.

Some people (Sue I’m looking at you) like to keep new clothes, stash them away, then surprise us all with things they bought, quite literally, ages ago.  I on the other hand want to wear my new things immediately.  They need to earn their keep as soon as they come out of the box.

Boots – Rag & Bone Newbury charcoal suede // Trousers – Zara pleather leggings // Jumper – Boden Off Duty sweater (on sale now) // Gilet – Verna gilet AllSaints (sale – all sizes now available!)

Okay my Husband asked me why I was wearing the bathroom mat – my sides were splitting – funny guy – but I LOVE my Verna gilet.  The texture adds a great dimension to an otherwise basic outfit, plus it is so soft, warm and snuggly.

Yesterday I was lazy, only because I had the luxury of working from home.  Minimal makeup and air dried hair resulted in this.

Boots – Rag & Bone grey nubuck Newbury boots (canvas version for Spring here) // Trousers – JCrew velvet toothpick jeans // Sweater – Boden Westbourne jumper (some colors just $29.40 in the sale!)

I haven’t a clue what to wear today and I’ve just driven the kids to school in pyjamas much to their horror.  To be fair they do look more like sweatpants – but I wonder is that really any better?  I may have scarred them for life.

Of course I will – ‘heroine’ – careful I might think you’re being sarcastic 😉 xx

I don’t know you should try it – I’ve actually exchanged mine for the S/M as I felt a bit swamped in the M/L – their knitwear always seems to fit big! I quite like it as it is a longer length – it’ll work great with heels too over a simple black dress.

It’s a bit too wavy right now – I need some relaxant in it I think! Or some extra length to weigh it down…

That’s all I want to do too, dress warm and snuggly. Love the long line gilet and the R&B grey Newburys. I keep asking our local Daniel Footwear to stock R&B.

Hey how come your hair isn’t all frizzy if you left it to dry naturally. I look like a chimney brush if I do that x

I still put some keratin balm in it – it’s magic – keeps my hair lovely and smooth – or try the B&B hair oil.

Gorgeous gilet Joanna. Love the colour teamed with black & loving your honesty of dropping the kids off to school in your pjs….surely the only thing to do is get back into bed 😉 Jane xx

Oh but I love yours short – but you know I have surprised myself how much I like the longer locks – I do feel quite feminine for a change – it helps given the piercings I now have:) I got a second helix over Xmas!

Hi Joanna – I had to laugh at your comment about Sue because I am exactly the same – make-up I will crack open and use almost immediately but clothing gets stashed away for a while! I really like your ‘bathroom mat’ gilet and love those pleather leggings – I’m after some! It has to be warm and snuggly over here at this time of year! 🙂

I would forget about it if I stashed it away! I’m bad enough at forgetting what I have hidden on the racks of my closet! My resolution is to wear more of my clothes this year – but sadly it still only has 365 days 🙂

The pleather leggings are nice and warm – but I wish they had a bit more stretch – they have a tendency to wrinkle around the knees! I love your blog by the way – looking forward to catching up on a tonne of posts – looks like you love music as much as I do too:) xx

It is great now I can leave it to air dry – short hair really does take more styling! My Husband can be pretty constructive too but I still tend to ignore his comments 🙂 xx

I wondered what I’d done then! Phew – but yes I’m guilty of said crime. I still have innumerable pieces stashed away. I can’t help it. The more I like something, the less likely I am to wear it immediately.

But your husband is hilarious. Like mine. (not). Right now, I’d love to be hibernating in something so cosy but I would need arms. I need arm coverage!

I was just thinking of all those clothes you have and you chose to wear pyjamas. That’s the way it rolls sometimes. I would if I could get away with it too :o)

Oh but I have lovely pjs – they are Eberjey and really lovely cotton:) At least I am sitting in the car in the dark – I wear my uggs with them too – Helen would cry 😉

Love the furry vest! I am like you I want to wear new purchases right away but sometimes the weather (ie gross slushy snow we have right now) prevents be from wearing fab shoes.

Love your blog! We have quite a few items in common like that great H&M coatigan! Not sure I could cope with all that snow but it’s raining so hard here now I can’t see out of the windows! xx

Thank you!! It is actually raining here right now. A quick thaw before we get a bunch more snow.

Can’t wait to see you you style “our clothes” 😉

Thank you Michelle – I love a nice stand out piece like this – I think it will be great over a sleeveless dress too. My Newburys are a bit of a passion of mine – I like to wear them year long – but I’m enjoying wearing my OTK Stuart Weitzmans too this year! xx

Oh I’m with you, I sometimes have the labels ripped off as soon as I get in the car! Jealous of your flash of summer colour, ready for my S/S wardrobe;)
