A new bag.

So yes I have the new Boden leather clutch in sunset…and now I have it in driftwood.  My logic/justification was that these bags are so beautiful they will sell like hotcakes.  I’ve already put in a request for them to make a larger tote version with handles, and a long strap too for next year – how perfect would that be!  Something along the lines of these Foley & Corinna Mid City totes that I am currently lusting after.

No more bags for me though till I have saved for my bag of the year – the Alexander Wang Rocco.  There are two on the Net-a-porter wish list I just emailed to MM:)

Today I opted for some color – the Zara knitted jacket from last year’s sale.  It’s a fun color with a great Zebra print lining.  To balance out the vibrancy of the jacket I opted for a simple square cut black H&M jumper, black Gap jeans and my mocha Pistols which coordinate fabulously well with the bag!  The scarf is Boden from AW 2011.

What bag is top of your wish list for 2013?

That’s a really cute outfit. I’m really liking this new pared down look that you’ve been sporting recently. And congrats on a year of blogging ,,, really enjoyed reading some of your back catalogue. Good to get to know a little more about you.

Thank you lovely! I know a year has flown – makes me giggle at how I have changed style wise over the year – I guess it comes from being more aware and thoughtful about what to wear each day! x

I didn’t realise the bag came with a strap that long – thought it was just a short one to go over your wrist. I’ve got the black one on a back order but love the look of the red one too. Do you have a Burberry trench? I’ve been promised one this year and can’t make up my mind which one to go with!

I know – there is only one photo of it with the long strap on the website. I love wearing it as a cross body then you can unclip the strap in the evening to use it as a clutch – perfect!

      I’m afraid I don’t have a Burberry trench – I’d love a classic trench though like this – I prefer them longer too – http://us.burberry.com/store/trench-coats/womens-trench-coats/london/prod-37619681-long-cotton-gabardine-trench-coat/

Lucky you!! Send me a photo when you make your decision:) x

Hi Joanna – have you been to the North Georgia Premium Outlet? I got my Burberry trench there for close to half the normal price. Prior season’s version I’m sure but who cares – it looks fantastic. You should check it out if you’re ever up in this neck of the woods. Cheers!

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary!! Love the look of the city tote – am on a never ending quest to find the perfect bag to organize my life with but go back and forth on the type of bag – I tend to carry entirely too much stuff so most of my bags end up looking like big buckets!! Am going to spend this year down-sizing!!

I have done pretty good since the kids are older at removing lots of rubbish from my bag. I am always amazed though how long I hoard and keep receipts for in my wallet! It’s half the size after I clear them all out! x

I like the more pared down look on you too. It really suits you and shows off your figure. I could really wear some of these last few looks you’ve been sporting. And it’s funny how you’re paring down and I’ve just bought some patterned pants!

I also think my figure is wearing my clothes better after losing a few inches:) Can’t wait to see the patterned trews – have you posted on them yet? x

I have received the clutch in navy and tan and the black is on its way. Love the roominess of the clutch, and I didn’t think I would like the tan, but love the lime-colored detailing and the lime interior. Although I have had some “misses” with my preview order (the Notting Hill sweater and the off-duty sweatshirt were so huge, I don’t know if it was possible to size down, the linen slub tees were boxy and sheer, the ballerina wedges were also too big, and I had the smallest size, and with the Ponte dress, the zipper was hard to pull up over the waist trim). There were also some wins and some items were just different than what I expected.

I really would love them all – I think I will use them all summer – they are so cute and versatile! I love wearing a cross body bag instead of my huge hobo for a change!

Shame about the preview order – funny how it turns out sometimes – I love the off-duty sweatshirt though – haven’t tried it yet! x
