Patterned pants.

I have blogged before about my love for patterned trousers.  They always seem to make a more prominent appearance in my closet at this time of year.  They are a great transitional piece – lighter than jeans but still providing coverage, plus it’s easy to incorporate some spring colors in an outfit with them.

I’ve only added one pair to my closet this season – these from Zara, who always offer an amazing array of patterned trousers.

I love any kind of animal print so these Marks and Spencer Per Una ones keep catching my eye – especially as they are on sale currently, with limited sizes left.

Mango hit my radar last year when I picked up a couple of great patterned harems in their sale.  These are fabulous in this seasons collection.

I’d be buying this pair if I didn’t have my linen harems from last year.

Here I am in my Zara pants today.  Off to the Doctors, sniff, sniff, with a horrid head cold which I need to kick it into touch before our beach trip!

Yesterday was also a day for some comfy trousers – these are the Next harems that I bought last year.  If you are interested in dipping your toe in the ‘harem pool’ – take a peek at Fiona’s post here – she’s picked some great ones to peruse.

So patterned pants – will you be sporting a pair this season?

I like the idea of harems as an alternative to yoga trousers or leggings as I work from home a lot. The next ones look more tailored, what sort of fabric are they?

Hi Jo – they are jersey and really comfy. The crotch isn’t low at all so they are really a smart jogging pant – I love them!

Yes – I stocked up in Next last summer and got some animal print and tie dye ones too – I love them for around the house or even with a pair of courts for work – plus they aren’t too low slung so perfect for those who aren’t ready for a full knee length crotch:)xx

Not gone there yet properly. I got a pair in the Zara sale last year and I was looking at them again the other day and thinking ??? partly because I bought them in XS which I am not and the pants are telling me the same. Hmmm. Maybe it’s time to look for a different more forgiving pair.

Maybe I’ll start gently with a pair of plain ones. Easy does it.

Poppy will have the XS lol – she loves her H&M harems in the kids section:) I have started going up a size in Zara and Mango for baggy pants as they are much more comfortable especially when there is no stretch in the fabric! xx

I used to buy a medium in Zara pants with elastic waists but the calves are sometimes too tight – especially in a silky fabric with no give – so these are a large and they feel lovely and loose – yet not huge if that makes sense!? I’m normally a UK 10-12 on my lower half. Hope that helps! x

Sorry to hear you’re under the weather – you look great in the photos! Thanks for highlighting the Mango Bambi trousers. I adore them! I have ordered the draped denim trousers and a pair of short black harems too. In for a penny…. X

I’m so tempted by them but have SO many pairs of pants with labels on them from last year!! Which are the short harems you got – they sound fab but I can’t see them on the US site…xx Love the full face models and new styling that Mango have started to use too!
