Pink and gray/grey!

Grey is a word I have terrible trouble with these days – American spelling or British spelling? It seems everyone in my family struggles with American English at times. My son demonstrated his Southern accent yesterday. He is pupil of the week in class and had to write a sentence beginning with “I feel…” to articulate his emotions on being selected. I checked his work afterwards and he had written “I feel people’s buckets with water”. Yes that’s right – he read it as ‘fill’ because as a true Southerner he ‘fee-yils’ things up. Just like Poppy brushes her ‘hay-yer’.

It’s election day here in the US today and I’m ready to vote. It’s also bloody freezing so I have the big guns out for the first time this year – my new Mango coat. I took inspiration from Pinterest for my outfit. Nothing more relaxing on a Monday evening than surfing Pinterest and catching up on Homeland while the Husband watches Monday Night Football!

Here’s my winter version of how to wear pink trousers. These are the J.Crew wool joggers and they are fabulous – I can’t wait to wear them with my Vince Claires in the evening. They fit big and these are a US 6.

The t-shirt can’t be seen but it’s so fun with Ostriches from a new selection at J.Crew:

Yesterday I was in culottes – I just flipping love these from Marks and Spencers! Less than £30 too! I am in a UK 12 medium length and they fit beautifully.

Remember to get and vote if you are in the US!

We go up the “STAY ERRRS” in our house, lol. And when we speak spanish, we say “OH LAAAAH.” Ridic. We aren’t even that southern here, but it creeps in…

Do you all “GIT” it too? We GIT everything, never receive. Sounds so cultured. 😉

I spell GREY GREY because I think GRAY looks dumb and it is a recognized version of the spelling, and I know several folks who spell it with the “e,” and not the “a.”

That grey coat is delicious. OMG–want.

You could always describe it as light black to avoid saying the ‘g’ word??? Nope that’s not helpful is it! Anyway, I love the joggers teamed with your coat. Haven’t ventured into culotte territory yet…. x

I think I am going to have to order the culottes to exorcise that trend out of my system. They look a fab fit on you and love them with the long boots which is how I would pair them. Right, let’s hit that button!

The ‘feel’ mix up made me laugh! I come from the land of ‘luke’ and ‘boo-k’ instead of look and book, but I refuse to pronounce them that way. I’ve lived up north since I was nine, and it’s the one thing I could never bring myself to say!

Loving your first outfit, I always think shades of grey (deffo with an e 😉 ) look so luxe with pale blue or pink. Gorgeous!

I had to re-read it to understand what he was trying to say! My Husband is from Cheltenham and often talks about ‘barthes’ instead of having a bath:)

Thanks Michelle – always struggle with pastels regardless of the season but I love the fit of these trousers so much and they will be great dressed up for a night out!

Oh what a dilemma with the accents going on, but whatever, or however things are said, as long as they are meant well, thats all that matters! Love your styling with the GREY coat and trainers….Cool Mama you! (Thought that sounded a bit southern or maybe not??) Helen xx
