I’ve never made a secret of my love for harem pants. They are so comfortable, and these days there are so many options available that if a full on drop crotch isn’t for you then you can opt for a smarter jogging pant. I’m wearing mine today as it is going to be in the 80’s and their fluidity keeps me cool all day. In fact they are the first thing I pack for vacations as they are perfect for traveling in too. You can then dress them up for evening wear with a lovely top and even a light jacket. The footwear options are endless – sneakers, sandals and even heels all look great with them.

The pair I am wearing today is from ASOS – just $28! They have an elastic waist that can be folded over to be worn lower on the hips if needed.
I have this pair of joggers – and they are definitely joggers so better worn with sneakers but I adore the drop crotch and the fabric is great! Perfect paired with a simple white tee and leather jacket.
Finally if you are in the UK I hear great things about the Hush harems. These have a fold over waistband and they look so comfortable. They are available in black. olive, navy, charcoal and blue. They will deliver to the US for £12 but it is not DPD, so make sure you know what customs will charge you for your order.
Here I am today – the weather is so great the toes are out!
Enough so that I can venture out and take a photo under the bluer skies today.
Today it’s time for the Zara harem pants again worn with a Zara snakeprint blouse, Boden Limited Edition boyfriend cardigan (from a couple of seasons ago) and my Charcoal suede Newburys (sprayed with water repellent – never fear!).
I’ve found SO many items of clothing that I want right now – it’s torture. I’m trying to keep all my pennies for my UK trip, which is admittedly now less than a week away. Thankfully I think Zara is a little cheaper there too so this will hopefully make it back with me – it’s cotton too so perfect for Spring here when it gets warmer. I think it will look great with shorts, and those Bobbys that I want:) Really DISLIKE the new Zara styling on the site by the way – could the models look more masculine or miserable?
This week has dragged! The cold probably hasn’t helped but I sure am happy to get to Friday. The added bonus today is that MM got to take some time off too. Of course his idea of a fun morning is shopping – NOT – but I persuaded him to nip down to Atlantic Station with me to the local West Elm to look at vanities/dressing tables.
For nearly 20 years I have been in search of the most perfect dressing table. I see it in my head but cannot find it anywhere. I want a modern design, clean lines, drawers for storage – but it must also allow for a chair to be pulled up like a desk. Now all the vanities I can find here are very traditional and ornate, with large overwhelming fixed mirrors. Surely us contemporary girls need somewhere to apply our make-up too? I thought, online, I had found the perfect answer – the mirrored Parsons desk from West Elm. Unfortunately, having seen it in real life, $599 is ridiculously expensive for this piece. I don’t mind paying $600 for the right dresser but not for something that looks and feels cheap:( So on we go, hunting for my perfect dresser. Maybe I need to just get a carpenter out to create my vision?

We have just got back from lunch at Houston’s – my new favorite lunch spot. It’s lovely and cosy and dark…perfect for a Fall lunch. Two crab cakes and a glass of suavignon blanc later I am feeling remarkably chipper. As I was having ‘a day out’ I decided to make a bit of an effort clothes wise. I chose the Zara grey harem pants, Zara animal print t-shirt (no longer online), Sam Edelman Louie boots in rose taupe and finally the Boden blossom tipped blazer (some sizes left in clearance) from SS 2012. My favorite combination of colors – grey and pink – and yes I LOVE harem trousers right now – so comfy:)
