Here was me thinking I might lose a few pounds on holiday. Errr not the way I’m going at the moment. Copious wine, Mum’s fab cooking, plus a trip to Tesco where I stocked up on a few home comforts.
I’ve already had steak and kidney pudding and mushy peas, the bag of revels, and the Monster Munch have been opened. It’s a good job I stocked up on some of my favorite shape wear from M&S this morning too! Right now if you use BRAFIT48 at check out you will receive 8GBP off every 40GBP you spend! I broke it up into separate orders online to benefit fully from the code!
These are my favorite pieces – they really do cinch the waist, and the legs have no elastic so completely eradicate the VPL. At 25GBP each who can argue with that? M&S also ship free to the US now so I can rest easy.
This afternoon we’re babysitting for my sister so the house has 4 children in it. Poppy is enjoying every minute of schooling Hugh, Jack and Tom – poor boys.
Here’s my outfit for today – starting with a jacket and sneakers for a trip into Bury, followed by a cardigan and flip flops for hanging out at home.
Jacket – Zara TRF (old) // T-shirt – Gap // Jeans – Asos Saxby // Sneakers – Golden Goose
Flip flops – Havaianas // Cardigan – Boden (30% off everything till 24th June!!) Limited Edition sparkle pocket cardigan (old)
Off to help corral the children!
Jealous of the revels and steak pudding!! I’ve now added them to my summer bust out on my trip back. Also quietly smiling at the dressed up jacket to head into Bury
Ha – can never be too overdressed in my book:) At least I had sneakers on and distressed jeans. I refuse to wear a cardi walking around Bury – then all I need is my shopping bag on wheels for the market:) When do you get over here?
Hollands steak and kidney puds, I don’t think I’ve had one of those for years, I had a massive craving for their chicken and mushroom pies when I was pregnant, but don’t think I’ve had one since. It is nigh on impossible to lose weight whilst living with your mum I find my mums cooking is always the best, and so comforting . How have you found running whilst in Blighty? As the weather has been so temperamental here, I have given up the running and have found the”delights ” of Tracey Anderson workouts, they seem to really work for me so I think I will stick with them for the foreseeable. Enjoy your treats and make sure the kids don’t eat them all.
Hi Diane! I ran on Thursday to shake the jet lag but the weather has been a bit rubbish since and foolishy I only bought fine weather running clothes and I shudder every time I think about stepping outside at the moment! I really miss it too – it’s very easy to get slothful here when the weather is crappy. I keep thinking about Tracey Anderson but I’m not very good with DVDs – I have Jillian Michaels, which is a great work out but I never stick with it. I’d much rather be outside! The kids are eating surprisingly well – but they still love drumsticks and corn! xx
Eat drink and be merry Joanna , your on your hilibobs!! I know I eat like a pig when I go to America, you always want what u can’t have don’t u!! X
I’m on my holibobs Trea and still need to get in my bikinis!:) Oh and all the new gear I’ve bought in the sales! xx
Smiled at your piccie, monster munchies my teens favourite, and Hollands pies and puddings, good old lancashire stodge..:)
LOVE monster munch – they’ve always been a favorite – especially the pickled onion ones:) Off for fish and chips today!
Do you know, my mother in law makes the best steak and kidney suet pudding. And she always puts us a jug of extra gravy on the side as well. Infact it’s a given that when she asks what we would like her to make when we visit, the vote for steak and kidney pudding is unanimous.
So glad you’re having a great time and I will be investing in shape wear!
Oooh does she take guests?:) xx
Looking good! Too bad we didn’t get to catch up this time.
I know – we thought of you often today though – you were missed! Xx

There’s no place like home really, is there?! When my sister comes home from the US, I have to be sure to have brown bread and Cadburys in stock … otherwise there’s trouble!!
It’s funny the things you miss – I just had a meat pie and mushy peas – yum!
