This can’t be Bury – I’m wearing shorts!

Ok it rained today but it’s supposed to be fab tomorrow as well!  Fingers crossed as my little sister turns 40!  We’re planning on taking the children for a day out and a picnic, then on Thursday I get her all to myself to do lunch and shop with a belly full of wine;)

We arrived Sunday morning and it has been fun ever since.  Poppy and Hugh are having a great time with cousin Alice.  Three kids are REALLY loud together – especially two Southern accents and one very strong Bolton accent:)

DSC_0036.jpgI’ve been rubbish with outfit photos since I arrived – sorry – but here is one from Friday when I got my hair cut shorter and went darker thanks to Chadd and Gina at A La Mode!  I love these Sam Edelman sandals – again I took a US 8 in these and they fit beautifully.  They are a great platform that give me some extra height without compromising comfort.

I’ll be back with plenty of photos over the next couple of days celebrating with my sister!

I’m hoping it will be toasty today – we’re off to Tatton Park with the kids for a picnic!

    Love the sandals!!

Is it weird to hear your children speak with an American accent? My husband says it’s weird that his children speak with a southern accent when he speaks with a broad Yorkshire accent despite living down South for 17 years now.

It is weird sometimes – but in the US I tend to forget how English I still sound after 15 years there! I need to translate for the kids sometimes over here:)

HiI’m a Mumsnetter and a  follower of your blog for quite a while.  However I  was reading a thread today where you were getting quite a kicking and it made me quite cross so just wanted to contact you to let you know that I love your style as it is so similar to mine. You are a similar shape to me and having looked at your latest post we have similar hair. We also have several items of clothing in common as well some are entirely your fault.!! Anyway keep it up

Well thank you so much – though if I crumbled with every piece of criticism I’d have given up blogging a long time ago! All of it was very fair really – I never censor my photos so you get the good the bad and the ugly…it’s great to know that there are people who enjoy seeing it all though, so your comment means the world to me! Thank you again xx

Well you know I love the Sam Edelmans’ don’t you? They are totally up my street and I am always looking at similar heels – height without sacrificing comfort.

And cute kids, cute hair, cute shoes! Nice to have you back on UK soil.

They are great sandals -and they come in nude too – really leg lengthening! I’m having a great time – can’t wait to see you xx

Ha, I sat down just to email you and ask if those Edelman Yazmines are comfortable when I saw them on your instagram. I love my Edelman boots and adore those shoes at first site. I am NOT a big heel wearer though so I’m a little unsure about that. Are they comfy?? They are down to $55 on Amazon! (my budget is much smaller 😉 ) Please tell me they are easy to walk in. I really like the saddle color. Normally Edelmans are I know…

Btw I love your blog. Feel like a stalker but I am just a mom of 3 the same age in Chicago and I adore your style. I love that you wear what I would have thought I couldn’t (jumpsuits for instance) and yet they look great and totally fine and age appropriate. I’ve clearly been too cautious- it’s just that I’m in the suburbs and surrounded by so much J. Crew and Lululemon which is so..uninspiring. Maybe it’s the Brit in you?? I think the European blogs have the best casual style.

How is that Zara green jumpsuit by the way? That Zara sale is doing a number on me.

Hi Lynn! I have to say they are amazingly comfortable! High yes but the block heel makes them extremely wearable – have the black and nude and adore them – would highly recommend them while they are reduced! I have a us 8 which is great and I am normally an 8-8.5 – hope that gives you all the encouragement you need:)

P.s. Thank you so much for the kind words – it means the world to me! I sometimes think it’s much easier for me to be the ‘crazy foreigner’ in Atlanta – I can get away with so much – I too am surrounded by chinos and LLL! The Zara jumpsuit is fabulous – I wore the black wrap one today too – get them while you can! The sizing is random though I took a large in the green and medium in the black xx

Duly enabled with the shoes (as pretty much requested), thanks! If I can prance in the saddle ones when I get them I will get the black as well.

And I can’t believe you have that black Zara wrap jumpsuit too! I want that one so much. I did try on the green but wound up predictably exiting with only more linen Ts. Think some Zara items are maybe for my altar ego. I’m still too boring. I liked it though. 😉
