The 2016 bikini issue

Yup it’s that time of year again when I encourage you all to take pride in your bodies, whatever shape, size or age. Get your bikinis on this summer and embrace your scars, curves, lumps and bumps. Let’s unite to teach our sons and daughters self esteem and body confidence, not self criticism or shame.

JCrew bikiniBikini – J.Crew

I’m living in my bikinis at the moment due to our location. We have once again completely lucked out with out villa. It is nestled on its own in a cove right on the beach. We even have our own little island. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. This is the view from our roof terrace (where I find it’s lovely and breezy for an afternoon nap!)

Datca Turkey

Last night we headed out for a wander around Datça which was incredibly busy due to the national holiday here for the end of Ramadan. We ended up at a fabulous little restaurant where the owner introduced himself to us as a Communist Bulgarian. We always meet the most fascinating folk 🙂

Jo I absolutely love your attitude. I have put on a few pounds recently and am more self conscious than I would normally be. I have a daughter who is 13 and absolutely gorgeous (but doesn’t think so). I am determined to brEak the cycle of self loathing and just appreciate yourself. At the end of the day there is so much more to worry about.

Loving the photos of your holiday.

Always great to hear from you Diane! I think this is the first year that I may have lost weight on vacation as I have been eating so much fresh fruit and fish! We all need to set a great positive example for our children – it’s taken me years to be so confident about my body! SO much wasted time worrying!

Ditto above Jo, although my body is the total opposite of yours (pear) I adore your blog because of your positive self image (and great style obvs!). After two babies my body has changed and I am slowly moving towards acceptance whilst side stepping the biscuit jar! Keep doing what you are doing Jo, you are fab. Enjoy your hols! X (oh, and you have great legs, well Jel !

Thank you Julie! I think the more of us that accept we are all different and stop aspiring to the images of women in magazines we will all be a lot happier. xx

You look great in your bikini! And I’m so jealous of where you are right now! We always go to Marmaris and I can’t get enough of those views. Hopefully we’ll be there in Sept-Oct. Are you considering taking those kitties home with you? Lol

We had to drive through Marmaris to get here – you’ll be pleased to hear that the ocean is just as clear and blue as ever! Kittens will stay here – but they have been lovely to care for while we’re here! They got fish heads for supper last night 🙂 xx
