Back to work for us here in the US while all of you across the Atlantic enjoy an extra day of vacation! I hope you all had an amazing Easter. I’ve mentioned before how much I adore the Easter celebration. For me it signals the beginning of Spring – green shoots everywhere, great food, and the anticipation of great things to come over the summer.
We hosted friends on Saturday for our Easter dinner. I roasted a 5lb leg of lamb which was completely demolished. I love watching the kids enjoy a good roast!
Poppy and Hugh made a fabulous trifle too for dessert.
There was of course the drunk dancing (and photography)…we were grooving the best of Daft Punk at this point I think! (p.s. the dress is the ASOS t-shirt dress currently on sale – PERFECT for over indulging – no belt loosening required).
Always a bad sign when the Port arrives on the table…
Yesterday we started all over again with a fabulous party and egg hunt at our friends’ house across the street. Glorious sunshine accompanied by great conversation, a huge ham and cold prosecco. I LOVE Easter.
So the elasticated waists have been needed for the large indulgences all this weekend…but also this that happened Thursday…
The bruising has vanished now and as soon as it is heeled I’ll add a little more bling. 42 year old mom gets navel pierced – they will be coming to take me away soon:)
And here are the said elastic waisted wonders!
Trousers – Zara (old) // T-shirt – Ted Baker (old) // Sandals – Avarcas Pons in peach // Jacket – Zara (old)
Trousers – Mango (old) // Top – AllSaints Tiko t-shirt (currently on sale) // Jacket – Next (old) // Shoes – Avarcas pons ankle strap in brown
Oh and another piercing happened Saturday too – for my girl, who turns 8 next month.
Looks like you had an amazing time. We ate and ate yesterday, turkey roast, lemon meringue cake, cheese, chocolate, I could have done with not wearing my skinny jeans. I agree with you though I love Easter. Love your hair too and am envious that you can wear sandals , at the moment it’s still too cold here for me to get my feet out.

Oh Joanna your belly looks so sore it made my legs go funny! Looks like you had a fab Easter. Our leg of lamb was delicious too, so was all the chocolate! xx
I heart elastic waist bands! Poppy was very brave, hope mummy was too xx
Poppy’s braver than me! I had mine done when I was about 13 and they had to drag me back to finish piercing the second ear as the first one hurt so much. Wuss I am.
I love an elasticated waistband too. But I tend to have a 6pm watershed for mine.
The leg of lamb looks scrummy!! If you can’t indulge at Easter and be in need of an elastic waistband…….then when can you?! xx
I love this. I love the piercings too. I haven’t had any of my chocolate, yet, a I still have no sense of smell or taste. I am a patient woman but I am reaching the end of that tether. 😉 H xx
Ace weekend! I must remember to take more photos when we entertain or go out – it’s always funny!
LOVE the grey outfit
Happy Easter darling – loving the new hair still and am giddy to hear about the NEXT piercing.. come on spill spill, what’s going to be next?!
I’m with you on loving Easter & Spring! Its a magical time of year! I’ve let my naval piercing heal up & not sure I could go back now but you are tempting me to reopen some of my ear ones!! We had a delicious slow roast lamb on Easter Sunday & it was so good! xx
Do it Andrea:) I love my piercings – I must stop now though else I’ll have more than a sieve:)
