Holiday sales shopping

I try so hard not to surf online stores while I am on vacation – but I have to check email and my inbox is FULL of sales emails. I really should unsubscribe from them all. Then I try to keep up with all my favorite blogs and there they are – just taunting me with all the bargains they have discovered!

I have been pretty good – while back in the UK I picked up a couple of AllSaints dresses in the sale. Trust me – with AllSaints prices the sales are always worth it and now all items are 50% off.

Hilde VI dress

My sister also bought the Riviera dress here, she looks fabulous in it:

The black Hilde Vi dress also comes in stone which I love too.

I’ve been stalking TheOutnet.com for these Isabel Marant Betty sneakers. I have the Bobbys in ecru from a couple of years ago and adore them – so much so I could justify the burgundy Bettys – or can I? They are 55% off and I keep seeing sizes selling out – but keep checking for returns if your size is sold out.

Finally I was catching up on some blog reading by the pool this evening and I sort of wish I hadn’t. Eve has blogged her sales wins and one of the jackets was on my wish list at the beginning of the season and the other I hadn’t even seen before but looks amazing on her!

I’ve ordered the black frayed hem¬†jacket that I have had in and out of my cart all season – now 50% off:frayed hem jacket

I adore the ecru jacket that Eve is still debating – I have ordered it – again 50% off!

ecru jacket

I’m also tempted to go back for this light pink jacket in a similar shape – just perfect with a grey tee and jeans.

Finally I grabbed a couple of these tanks in ecru and black ready to reveal my sun kissed shoulders once I am back. A steal at this price…

Thanks a bunch Eve ūüėČ I better get eBaying too ūüėČ xx

Best of the Memorial Weekend sales!

To be fair I hadn’t really considered all the sales taking place this weekend. I’ve been more focused on the Eurovision Song Contest taking place today. By the way if anyone can explain how Australia can be included in the ‘Eurovision’ I would love to hear – last time I checked Australia was not in Europe! ūüėČ

Anyway back to the sales Рit was actually Sue who reminded me about them all РI got a fairly frantic Facebook message from her yesterday asking me to make a Madewell order for her! They have a sale on plus an extra 30% off using code SWEET. Sue now has this jacket heading to me for an amazing $45 reduced from $138 Рapparently it was £140 on NAP in the UK!

Madewell drawstring jacket

I also love this version without the belt massively reduced again from $158.

Madewell quilted jacket

Or how about this kimono jacket? I just love the color reduced from $110.

These tops are beautiful and I have the first one here with the eyelet trim.

Until I find it these are my picks:

Finds of the week!

Being back on wifi has it’s pros and cons. ¬†Under both pros and cons lies sale shopping – it’s great to see what is out there, but at the same time I need to resist temptation. ¬†It’s far too easy to hit the order button sitting in the sunshine with a glass of sangria! ¬†I have, however, found some amazing bargains to share with you!

First up the iconic MiH jeans. ¬†Bloggers everywhere have been singing their praises and Sue and Annmarie both have them. ¬†They were favorites of Jane Birkin and Farrah Fawcett and apparently the denim and cut feels supportive – holding you in, not leaving you short for air! ¬†ASOS.com have several styles left in the sale at incredible reductions. ¬†Keep checking back if your size isn’t available they do keep coming back in stock and ASOS updates regularly. ¬†My favorites are:

The Casablanca – reduced from $314 to $70:

I love this wash – so retro and great for summer.

The Breathless (reduced from $453 to $82):

This raw Japanese selvedge is stiff to start with but with wear becomes beautifully soft, aged denim. ¬†Every review says size up in the Breathless so you’re not left breathless.

The Jane Jean (reduced from $362 to $68):

My personal favorite – I love the wash and the cropped, flared cut.

Jane jean

The totally trendy Phoebe jean is no longer available on Asos but I found them half price on Amazon here Рincluded in their Prime shipping program too!

Next up shoes – and I know this may be problematic for UK readers but Zappos.com have some GREAT discounts in the US.

My Nine West Oslos are now just $63.99:

These Angellicas are perfectly on trend with their lace up and will look perfect with dresses or jeans (reduced from $119 to $77).

Another of my favorites is the Kurrious Рavailable in black or taupe.  A great heel height for every day wear (reduced from $119 to $77).

My favorite Sam Edelman Reeves are now on sale too. ¬†I ‘ve worn these tonnes on vacation (reduced from $100 to $69.99).

I don’t need these Katarinas at all but they are sitting in my basket on Zappos right now – I love the putty shade – again reduced from $100 to $69.99.

These following dresses are not in the sale but are still great prices so I wanted to share them with you! ¬†This sleeveless swing dress is the same I have in grey, white and black – it is perfect for day to night on vacation and I have also worn mine as a beach throw on. ¬†I’ve just ordered it in navy.

navy swing dress

This version is gorgeous Рthe pussy bow could be left looser for daytime, and I love the lower neckline.  The green and navy are stunning and are great vacation evening dresses.

Finally don’t forget the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has started. ¬†People in the US go crazy over it and they ship globally. ¬†It is a sale of NEW fall season items so you can stock up and be ready with your boots and coats! ¬†There are some amazing brands available at great discounts before they sell out in September!

Happy 2014!

I hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve and celebrated well – or like us had a lovely quiet evening in with family, music and good food. ¬†Yesterday we went to friends for a fabulous day of celebrating and over indulgence, so today I’m starting my detox. ¬†Yes I’m afraid I am one of those ¬†January bores, planning a month of paleo eating and no alcohol. ¬†I’m setting myself up by sharing this with you – but hey ho maybe if some of you out there are trying to do the same we can motivate each other!

Also it’s now January 2nd and I’ve now achieved 2 days of no online orders – pretty good methinks – **polish halo**;-) ¬†Prior to that, however, I discovered one of the best sales around at AllSaints – one of my favorite stores – discounts up to 50% are on offer. ¬†Here are my top picks – see if you can guess which I’ve ordered.

The gorgeous Bonny Cuban boot which can be worn with jeans, casual dresses or shorts.

The leather biker jeans are lush in this taupe color and just $210!

I LOVE this classic AllSaints oxblood jacket – half price with several sizes left!

The Riviera dress has been a favorite of mine all year.

The Rubie dress is classic AllSaints draping.

You’ve seen me wear this several times and it’s been one of my favorite AW2013 pieces.

This tee dress is gorgeous – I love the suede paneling on it.

tee dress

The Verna gilet is a steal now and such a classic.  A great addition for a simple jeans and tee outfit.

It really is one of the best sales I’ve seen around – great reductions for classic wardrobe staples. ¬†and I always love AllSaints quality too.

Check out ASOS as well ¬†– right now they have 70% off certain items¬†including some new stock! ¬†The oversize shift I’m wearing below is now only $19! ¬†My Husband loved it and it is the perfect day dress – I was super comfortable in it all day yesterday and it was perfect for overindulging:)

Dress – ASOS // Tights – Marks and Spencer¬†(nope you can’t beat them – I order several pairs each winter)¬†// Boots – Steve Madden (old) // Coat – Zara

Off to drink my Kombucha and eat steak and cauliflower mash for supper!  Day one paleo done!

My picks of the sales.

So the sales have started and boy it’s a mixed bag – but as ever, after browsing the sites a couple of times, lots caught my eye. ¬†Let’s just get on with it shall we? ¬†Here are my picks of the sales so far!

First good old Marks and Spencer have 30% off women’s wear. ¬†There are some fabulous coats on sale starting with my checked biker jacket reduced to ¬£97.30. ¬†I love this coat.

Checked coat

Another favorite of mine that I’ve resisted to date is this coat from the Best of British collection – now on sale – this will sell out fast now it has been reduced I assure you.

Cocoon coat

This coat is a similar style to the checked coat I have – but for those of you that love leopard. ¬†If I didn’t already have a leopard coat from M&S bought a couple of years ago I would buy this.

leopard coat

Now for Mango Рwho I always think have some of the best sale prices.  I have just bought the following dress and skirt.  I think they are very Marant-ish and much more reasonably priced than any of the H&M collection.

This dress is just gorgeous worn in the winter with boots or with flats in the warmer weather. ¬†It’s half price at $49.99.

mango dress

I actually ordered this skirt in a couple of different color ways. ¬†It is so reminiscent of the ra-ra skirts I wore in the 80’s – I had a yellow one I adored:) ¬†Again this is a skirt that can be worn in all seasons.

Mango skirt

I love shorts all year round, and these will be great with over-the-knee boots and black tights.

Mango shorts

Now for Zara. ¬†Some of the reductions are pretty disappointing but I did manage to grab the ballet flats I’ve been drooling over – reduced from $99.99 to $59.99. ¬†They’ll be perfect with the Mango skirts. ¬†I was really disappointed to see Zara have started charging shipping here on orders less than $50, which just means I’ll have to throw some extra items – and return them obviously!

black flats Nude flats

Lastly from Zara – here’s one that no doubt most of you will hate but I LOVE this. ¬†The denim boiler suit reduced from $119 to $59.

denim jumpsuit

Finally ASOS – I just can’t stay away from their site – there are so many great reductions! ¬†This dress is perfect for NYE.

Baroque dress

Another gorgeous party dress is this oriental print dress.

Oriental print dress

I love the rose print on this midi-dress – really striking.

ASOS rose dress

I’ve ordered the next couple to wear with either my Golden Goose or my over the knee boots – they are great prices.

This oversized shift is just $31.

shift dress

This dress may not be to everyones taste but I love the layered sleeve look.  Again now just $31.

tshirt sleeves

Finally a t-shirt dress for the spring – yes I’m already starting to think sunshine. ¬†No one would notice if it fell in your cart at just $22.

Tshirt dress

So go on share – what have you slipped in your closet from the sales while you’re finishing up the Christmas shopping? ¬†Tell me I’m not the only one!

This week has been a party week for me. ¬†It’s been fabulous catching up with some girlfriends that I haven’t seen for a LONG time. ¬†Here’s what I wore Thursday night for a fun night out with some great girls that I’ve known since I moved to Atlanta nearly 14 years ago!

Still in her 30s

But only just! ¬†I spent the day today celebrating my sister’s 39th birthday. ¬†We left early, abandoning our children, and ran for it to the bright lights of Manchester. ¬†What followed was one of the best days of sibling bonding I’ve ever had. ¬†I wish I could spend days like this every week with my sister.

After a mooch around the shops, where I bagged a couple of great deals in the Mango sale, we headed to Harvey Nicks for a fabulously debauch lunch – minimal food, copious prosecco and abundant conversation. ¬†I felt like I was on an episode of Long Lost Family – we spilled so much, talked so much, laughed so much and cried a little. ¬†It’s amazing what growing up can do for a relationship.

Lovely Louise – Happy 39th!:

My new pants – fabulously comfortable:

In between bottles of wine we dashed into Zara where I fell in love with this jacket – I will be ordering it on my return. ¬†It’s just the most perfect lightweight jacket – it fit like a glove.

We also managed to buy half of the Marks and Spencer’s shoe department. ¬†Lordy I might need a new suitcase again.

I first saw these on gorgeous Avril and I couldn’t resist the nude too.

Then these are the first ever strap sandal I have ever owned! ¬†Normally I can’t get my toes to stay put beneath the strap and I end up with all sorts of nasty welts and blisters – but these are just SO comfortable. ¬†My first ever non-thong sandals. ¬†I promise – far nicer on – no Jesus sandal about these! ¬†My sister confirmed they were cute and not frumpy – I trust her, you should too.

Here are Louise’s – very classy indeed and a great wearable height. ¬†I’m so impressed with M&Ss shoe collection – thank goodness they do free shipping to the US now!

My outfit today (it was warm and sunny!):

Dress – T-shirt dress James Perse (old) // Jacket – Zara (old) // Shoes – Isabel Marant Bobby Sneakers // Scarf – J.Crew (old)

Off to bed now ready to head to Leeds! ¬†That’ll be a fun story for you:)

The sales are on!!

Last night my brother and his family came over for dinner. ¬†I love hanging out with my brother – he’s quite tolerant of my foibles/quirks – or at least he appears to be. ¬†After dinner, once all had left, I happened to be surfing online and low and behold what should I see but the Zara site announcing it’s sale starting at midnight.

For the first time ever jetlag proved handy. I set my alarm just in case, but thanks to Poppy missing her Dad -bless her, I was wide awake at midnight, on my iPad, filling my cart.  As I was about to check out, feeling very happy with myself, I lost the will to live.  The UK site would not accept a US billing address and UK delivery address.  Now for a moment I did think about waking Mum to borrow her card, but I quickly realized that she may not have placed the same degree of import on the Zara sale, especially close to 1am.  Deflated I rolled over and fell asleep dreaming of what could have been.

In the cold light of day it was probably no bad thing.  This morning, as I stalked the site again, I realized that I actually only REALLY wanted 2 items.  Both are actually cheaper on the US site but the dress was sold out in a medium there Рso thanks for letting me borrow your card Mum:)

Here are my purchases:

Jacket – $69.99 or 49.99 GBP

Dress – $69.99 or 49.99 GBP

Happy with my purchases we then headed to the Trafford Centre with my sister.  I was not planning on buying anything.  In fact I even went into Zara and came out empty handed.  Louise then dragged me kicking and screaming into Ted Baker.  Darn it Рthree dresses later we emerged victorious with grins across our faces.

Here’s Louise’s dress – just stunning on her – in a size 1 – after 2 children!! How can that be?!

And mine – another example of how different our styles are. ¬†I’ll never achieve her level of elegance.

The NULA dress Рthe same style as my taxi print one that Avril kindly sent over for me, but this is the Paris one, reduced from 129 GBP to 90 GBP.  The print is stunning.

The Allysia dress – reduced from 129 GBP to 65 GBP – a proper bargain!

Poppy didn’t come home empty handed either. ¬†I have a blogger in training I assure you. ¬†I adore this cute Marks and Spencer’s dress that Nana bought her for her belated birthday present.

Now I’m off to sit in the garden and relax with my favorite purchases of the day – my vacation is complete now I have my hands on these.
